Applied after 1 year of PR. Mother applied with two children for citizenship; mother was the dependent applicant when applying for PR. Chinese, NTU PhD. Changed jobs and got a raise during the application, updated ICA accordingly. Wrote to ICA to expedite because child needed to register for Primary 1, but got the standard reply and no approval. Sharing for reference.
PR 3 years, been in Singapore 9+ years. Mother applied with daughter, father retaining PR. Been waiting 14 months, wrote multiple letters but only received generic replies. Parents' and daughter's LTVPs are all under my name, and daughter's has already been renewed. Not sure why citizenship hasn't been approved yet — insufficient qualifications or citizenship becoming more competitive?
Mother applied with daughter, nearly 10 years in Singapore, PR just hit 2 years at time of application. Bachelor's from a top-3 Chinese university, NTU master's, finance industry. Waited over 19 months. Updated ICA with promotions and salary increases during the wait, also uploaded prenatal reports after getting pregnant with second child. Wrote to ICA multiple times and asked an MP to help follow up twice, but it didn't seem to help — always got the standard 'under consideration' reply. Still had to wait. But finally got a good result. Grateful~ Hope everything goes smoothly from here!
